The Metropolitan Police has submitted its final investigation file into the Grenfell Tower fire to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the force has announced.

Twenty companies and organisations as well as 54 individuals could face criminal charges, the force said.

It has previously described the case into the tower block fire in North Kensington, west London, as one of the "most complex investigations ever undertaken by any UK law enforcement agency".

A public inquiry in 2024 found the fire, on 14 June 2017, was avoidable. Seventy-two people died in the blaze.
